How Cluster Pays Work
A winning cluster requires a minimum of 5 matching symbols touching horizontally or vertically on the 7x7 grid. There is no stated maximum cluster size. In theory, all 49 cells could contain the same symbol, though the probability of that is astronomically low.
The Tumble Sequence
After every winning cluster:
- Winning symbols explode and vanish from the grid.
- Remaining symbols drop downward under gravity.
- New symbols fall from above to fill the empty spaces.
- The grid is re-evaluated for new clusters.
This cascade cycle repeats until no new cluster forms. A single paid spin can therefore produce multiple consecutive payouts. Each tumble is essentially a free follow-up within the same bet. This is the core mechanic that gives Sugar Rush its addictive rhythm and the feeling of chain-reaction wins building on one another.
Multiplier Spots in the Base Game
Here is where things get interesting:
- When a winning cluster explodes, the grid positions where those symbols sat become marked with a candy-wrapper highlight.
- If another winning cluster lands on a marked position during the same tumble chain, a 2x multiplier appears on that cell.
- Each subsequent win on that same cell doubles the multiplier: 2x, then 4x, then 8x, then 16x, then 32x, then 64x, up to 128x (the per-spot cap in the original Sugar Rush).
- The multiplier applies to any payout that passes through that cell.
- All multiplier spots reset to zero when the tumble chain ends and a new spin begins.
Multiplier Spots During Free Spins (Sticky)
During the bonus round, multiplier spots do not reset between spins. They persist for the entire free-spins session. So a cell that reached 8x on spin 3 of your free spins retains that 8x value on spin 4 and beyond. If another win lands on that same cell, it doubles again to 16x. Multiple cells can accumulate high multipliers simultaneously.
This sticky mechanic is what drives the extreme volatility of the bonus round. The theoretical ceiling, multiple cells stacked to 128x multiplying overlapping cluster wins, is what enables the 5,000x max-win cap.
